Meet Brittany Harris, Violin Instructor Brittany began studying the violin at the early age of three in a conservatory in Chicago with the acclaimed violin teacher Betty Haag-Kunke. She played Orchestra hall for the first time by the time she was five and took a Master class with Itzhak Pearlman when she was seven. Brittany attended her local arts middle school here in South Carolina where she first learned to play in an orchestra and held her first concert master title. She aslo helped start a local orchestra in Summerville and went to all state orchestra for the first time in the seventh grade. From there, she went on to become her high school concert master and played solos in the local community orchestra. Brittany was featured in Skirt magazine her senior year of high school and was interviewed about her music. Brittany attended Winthrop University where she received her Bachelor of Arts degree in Music. She held the title of concert master her last four semesters as well as led her trio and quartet. Brittany loves all kinds of music from classical to modern to country. She uses her love of music to teach and instill passion in her students. |
