Christina Schaer Yap, Voice Instructor Christina Schaer Yap is a voice teacher who been teaching lessons in the Charleston area for the past 10 years. She had developed and directed South of Broadway Theatre Companies' Broadway Babies, Creative Spark Centre for the Arts' Songbirds and Performance Troupe, and has brought her students to perform in many festivals, competitions and community events. Christina received her Bachelor Degree from Western Connecticut State University and her Master Degree from the University of Arizona both in Vocal Performance. She performed many soprano solos with the Tucson Symphony, the New York Pops at Carnegie Hall, and with the Charleston Symphony. She made her operatic debut in Rome, Italy in Mozart's Die Zauberflöte and has competed in the National Metropolitan Opera Competition. In 2008, Christina was executive producer and singer in Jason Robert Brown's Songs for a New World performed at South of Broadway Theatre Companies Studios. Christina began singing at the age of 4 and has not stopped yet. She loves to inspire her students, build their confidence and help develop their talents. |
